Thread regarding IBM layoffs

An amazing, amusing value-per-employee IBM versus Red Hat

IBM: $114B market cap, 370,000 employees: $308K market cap per employee.

Red Hat: $33B market cap, 12,600 employees: $2.6 million market cap per employee.

Ibms low market cap per employee. is because they Resource Actioned anyone that actually had any value long ago while offshoring as much as possible to the lowest cost country solution for so many years.

No one left in ibm now except all the low wage new collar workers and ginny's cohorts to squeeze them dry.

Grieve for anyone in RedHat that does not investigate what IBM is really like, and does not jump ship before any acquisition deal goes through.

that's because we are big in services (lower cap per employee, your asset is your employee)... also, we are heavy offshore, that drops the number as well. frankly, what's the value of 100k employees in bang

The best, brightest, talent at RedHat will run for the door, unless a large chunk of change is set as "golden handcuffs" in escrow to be doled out over the years. But the greed board members will try to hold on to all of the sums of money and the key personnel will be gone.

Desperate attempt by Ginni to buy growth. IBM will ruin Red Hat. Look at all of the other acquisitions IBM made over the years. The old joke is true: “What do you get when you cross IBM with any acquisition? IBM.” The IBM bureaucracy will take it over and kill it.
