Chevron is buying the PRSI refinery from Petrobras

The article reports that there are ongoing talks between Chevron and Petrobras regarding the acquisition of the PRSI Refinery in West Texas. As it seems, Petrobras has been eager to sell the refinery in order to meet their asset divestment plan by the end of the year and Chevron has been looking to acquire such infrastructure in that region, as it wants to make it’s West Texas operations more efficient.

If PRSI is such a gold mine, why are the current owners wanting to sell it? Is there a future problem coming down the pike? Chevron should analyze every angle before making this purchase. Unfortunately, Chevron’s decision makers are comprised of too many yes-men and women. One top person has a hard-on for something and the rest of the bunch goes along without question.

Hear PRSI is a gold mine! The ppl out there making tons of money still. If chevron does buy PRSI maybe they will put money into fixing whatever needs to be fixed. Think about it if it’s so bad and still running then maybe they just have some badass hands out there and things will just get better for them. The ppl taking bad about that place maybe couldn’t handle it or were just to lazy to learn their job. #good4prsi #stillcashingchecks

Ok 5yse you know it all, that’s why chevron is outperforming Exxon. You need to research. Chevron is not going under not any time soon and I doubt they ever will. That’s hilarious that you actually believe that.

Go ahead and convince yourself. 5pjt. Have you forgotten AMBU? That purchase wasn’t too long ago. Have you forgotten Kittimat? That was a more recent blunder. I can name a few more.

Honestly I think the people that are writing these comments are complete id--ts. How can you say the dumb--ses at chevron? I think it’s a smart buy. You say they would over pay big time.... it’s actually a steal. what’s a couple hundred million to chevron? That’s chump change. All fines at the PRSI refinery are settled. Sounds like someone is a little jealous they left PRSI since a much better company is taking over.

It won't help you anyway, American clowns! The whole world is laughing at you! The USA and "chevron" are collapsing, don't you see that? You are in the middle of your total collapse, and nothing can stop this natural process

Petrobras will get another company to come in and play like they are interested in the refinery to drive up the price. Chevron will easily fall for this ploy and overpay. Just like taking candy from a baby.

Sounds like a match made in heaven. One company eager to sell and another slobbering all over to get in. But since Chevron doesn’t have a team of clever negotiators, I bet you 10 to 1 odds Chevron bungles the deal and overpays big time. Maybe even ends up having to perform unexpected repairs and upgrades because they won’t adequately inspect the facility or make sure all the appropriate records are in hand before complete the purchase. I’m not kidding. Chevron has put themselves in this mess a few times before.
