Thread regarding Sears layoffs

If Eddie gets the 300 stores ...

Let's imagine for a minute somehow Eddie gets ownership of the 300 Sears & KMart stores and is settling in to enjoy his tax break because of the earlier catastrophic losses. What then?

Distribution nightmare unless they are all in one region. Vendor nightmare because who would sell to him? Employee nightmare because who in their right mind would work for him on the store level? Facility nightmare because the stores are in terrible shape. You get the idea.

Most importantly -- Since he has not learned a single lesson about managing RETAIL, the mistakes that he made running the stores are going to continue.

The reason 400ish stores need to be open:

Check out Munjal's LinkedIn. It's a hoot. She lists a lot of accomplishments except that they really aren't accomplishments because she totally failed at every single thing she claims to have done. Completely failed while making a million+ dollars a year.

Eddie is a f---ing mo--n. As well as his hangers on. Especially Munjal. If she ever works again it will be a miracle. What would she put on her resume? Drove the worlds most famous retailer into the ground???

He keeps saying that he wants to keep the 300 or 400 stores as an ongoing concern meaning that they would be open. I don't know what employees would be left to work in them. Most employees should have a different job by the time this happens. If it happens.

I doubt they would stay open, he probably has a buyer for the property and they will be quickly closed and sold

I don't think he'll even get them. It is heading down to Chapter 7 before too long.

There is probably someone out there that could make the 300 stores work but that person isn't Eddie Lampert.

Several of the stores he already owns the land. He gets rent from them being there. He only wants the stores that are making money right now. He’s only learned that these stores are somehow making money and he still doesn’t know it’s because of those stores management and employees. He will ruin those stores also and they will disappear in a few years if he gets them.

He only wants the land and has no plans on keeping these stores open.
