Worst company to work for. They have no regard for you as a professional or a human. They always lay off the wrong people, cut from the middle id–ts and cut the store hours. simple as that! people shop accordingly and you will always have enough staff to give them the service they need and hinder theft!
Yes they let you work during the holiday season only to keep you wondering if you will have a job in the next few months. They let you continue to spend your last paycheck on holiday gifts from Macy’s only to let you know that your job has been eliminated. They let you know through conference call and after the call you are left to wonder what happened and where do you go from here.
They just let go 350 people. All of their IT department were told their jobs would be eliminated in the coming months.
Every year Macy's has layoffs in the 1st quarter. I worked for this bad retailer for many years and always was conerned about my position being eliminated. They are a ruthless company that does not care about employees and their families. Macy's merchandise is boring and pretty much the same for the last 10 years. Their one day sale brochure is old and looks like it came from Sears. Keep up the good work Macy's and you will wind up like Sears.
At my store, the managers were actually working on the floor black friday. This had to be a first....
I am sure and it will be unfortunate since it is always the support associates who get cut not the high paying managers who sit in offices and do nothing all day
