@1Jdhf

https://bnymellon.voya.com is the link for retirement benefits. shouldn't need a work ID to access it, should be separate.

So I was laid off in January, typical 30 years of experience. I call Voya to roll over my 401k and get hung up on two times.

Of course I can't access the bnymellon401k.com, because of the way I was escorted out of there.

Must be a lot of other folks calling in.

It probably means you have been laid off and they haven't told you yet.

If you do get laid off sign up for the outplacement service whether or not you decide to use it. Bny gets charged for it.

Also you will have a hard time getting anyone in Hr. Make a list now of all the numbers you might need in the future like voya 401k, aetna healthcare, etc

Any thoughts on the new Id rollout in NY today? That was stopped mid stream? Wondering why some people mysteriously did not have new badges. Just typical lack of organization from so many internal floor changes?

@1Fqwq - Point is he wasn't a manager of anybody, just an individual contributor, same as me. If you stick around long enough, you get promoted to VP. Doesn't mean anything.

Haha!! BNYM flying someone in for an interview for a VP level position?? Wining and dining?? That’s hilarious

Hey, newsflash....if JPMorgan Chase buys BNYM, it's actually a better deal for BNYM employees, because JPMorgan Chase is a far superior company.

Pray you don't get laid off if they merge because JPMorgan is a great place to work, great benefits, pay, stock options, PTO, WFH. It's the place to be.

Sounds like BNYM is cleaning house with old stale employees. Lot of bitter jealous comments. They probably realize there is much better talent bout there and know once they shed the complainers, they can rebuild with better people who don't mind actually working in an office!!!

I start my new VP level job in a week and I'm coming in to clean house. People in my group will actually have to come into the office. The way it should be. After I figure out the lay of the land, I'll recruit two former co-workers to come work for me.

Thank for the info. I'll still let them fly me in and wine and dine me, lol. I have no intention on staying there more than a year. In December 2020, I'm heading to a bunker down in South America. I also have a third interview at Goldman Sachs.

Remember we can interview them as well. This is just a job, don't plan on staying long, lol.

You all know what's coming in late 2020? Right???

Westborough , MA location continues to be hit with layoffs. I heard Pittsburgh is getting hit as well. The safest jobin the Westborough office is the call center. People post out after doing a year in call center, and end up being laid off a few months later in their new department. Ops teams are being combined so you know the writing is on the wall. It's only a matter of time. They seem to be making it a lot more difficult to work from home, so they will lose a lot of people that way.

I find this last reply quite repugnant. Most BNY managers can in fact manage to find their a-- with both hands and a flashlight, so please do not cast everyone in this light. However, that is the extent to most of their capabilities.

Lol- everyone is a VP here. My teammate in Pune was a VP and he was an id--t. Was astounded when I found out he was a “manager“. He couldn’t manage to find his a-- with both hands and a flashlight.

Just wait until Chase buys out bny and those being naive by not looking for a job now become Chase employees. Bny is sinking like the titanic. Save yourselves now!!

Vp level doesnt mean a thing. They will fly u in wine and dine you and in a year or so u will be escorted out like a criminal in the annual layoff. Dont waste your time with bny. Better off at pnc or bank of america.

I just had an interview at BNYM and then I found this site while researching the company.

I have second interview next week. They are flying me in and putting me up at a hotel

VP level job.

It just the cycle of how things are. Musical chairs. I’m looking because my current company is also doing layoffs.

BNY Mellon has lost its soul. Expecting 120% from employees and then turning around and commanding 20+ year employees to leave the building immediately will certainly affect them in the end. If you’re a former employee, be thankful you’re no longer there; if you’re still there- pity the fool.

Kissing behinds are a common practice in India and the US it seems. I have seen managers, technically 0, communication 0 (we cant say if his tense is past or present or future), but still he is a manager. Why? Because he is a good dog which licks shoes and shines the backs of his bosses.

Who or what is TMS. Please explain to those trying to prepare for the worst case scenario with this sorry band of over paid executives at the top. Worked for a bipolar manager that made the office a toxic place to work who kissed the behinds of everyone whom he thought would further his career Worked for a manager who couldn't handle the truth when explaining that the only thing you get at the Bank for working hard is more work. Too much favoritism, too little investment in better systems. If Mellon processed work in two steps, Bank Of New York had a better way that required manual steps only adding to frustration and errors. I gave 40 years of my life to the Bank. Thank God I could retire with a pension and friends I will cherish for life. God Bless & Good Luck to all.

Believe me i know how you feel. My team was meeged over a year ago with another department and from day one i knew the new mgmt was gunning for my job. The mgr i worked for was a slimy worm. He just couldnt wait to eliminate me so he could take over and build an empire for himself. Very sad but thats how these creeps are at bny. You will end up better off elsewhere. Trust me. I am already interviewing and have a second interview lined up. Forget bny.

Thank you so much for reminding me about contacting TMS within 5 days. Totally forgot about that. I am still in shock. Never got a bad review, I was given a project the week before. Worked on it all weekend, told management I would be working all weekend and came in Monday and was told my job was eliminated. I feel betrayed. I believed in my boss, but they took my directs to make their numbers. I just want to die right now. I just feel betrayed
