The flex time is a big thing for me as well. Being able to go to kids events is great, I have friends at Harris and other places that are hiring in Rochester. They never get a chance to go to functions for their kids. Get shipped out for weeks on end. And are constantly on mandatory overtime. There have been many times I left early and made up the time on other days or came in on weekends so I could be there for kids.

I’m with mvy... I enjoyed my job and it afforded me a great deal of flexibility and tons of vacation. I could work from home, work odd hours, whatever I needed to be there for my family as long as the work got done. That’s definitely worth something. So, I knew I was being underpaid but the trade off was the long vacations, the Halloween parties at school, availability for appointments for myself and my kids. It was worth it to me.

I have asked myself “why did u sit at a Xerox and take the abuse for decade?” I finally put It together, It allowed me the opportunity to attend my kids school functions, go to doctors appointments, and great vacation. It was worth It at the one time. Therefore don’t be so judgmental Saggy. BTW I also got laid off on Tuesday after 25 years.

You’ve had no increase in pay for the past decade while getting fewer benefits and you couldn’t trouble yourself to find a better job.

You’re getting the respect you deserve.
