I find it said that so many people on here keep saying that PSR didn't work at other raroads because people lost their jobs. Who gives a flying f---. Companies are not here to serve the employees, but to serve a product to the customer and make as much money as possible. F--- your feelings that you think the company is greedy, that is their right! This is capitalism. This is America! If you don't like how the company is ran, you can quit! It's a free market. If PSR didn't work at other railroads, then the market wouldn't be demanding UP to implament it. I'm tired of seeing everyone call for someone's head because a lot of good people will lose their jobs. Yeah, it s---s, but everyone will move on. All companies have done this, and will continue to do so. Innovation changes how we do things and hoeany people you need to do them. The same people complaining here probably would have complained when we stopped using a caboose on our trains. It's non essential. Wait another 10-15 years when PTC is more reliable and we start to see some lines with out crews. You'll all be up in arms then too you, but guess what, it's for the best!

This has been copied and pasted in 4 times already. I do find it funny though how the unions don't like something that is meant to increase efficiency with less people. We hate progress no matter the cost.
I guess employees aren't required to make a company run either! Take a guess who got the UP where it is today sh--head! That's right, the employees! PSR DIDNT WORK and failed right after implementing! PSR is a profit oriented program! A company needs to have employees or it will simply cease to exist! I think the dumb--s of this post needs to wake up, and look past the money! NO RAILROAD UNION OUT THERE VOTED FOR THE PSR PROGRAM! Every union out there expressly rejected the plan! IT'S A JOB KILLER! The other RR's that used the PSR plan have posted higher profits, but they've also posted lower revenue! The UP posted record third quarter profits, but needs to cut people? Hmmm.....sounds like greed to me!

And, when the gvt rubber stamps all these mergers, it is only doubling down on customers. They have skin in the game too..
