You are overlooking the reality of part time, seasonal, contract jobs. You all think that Amazon would hire in a structure that’s like what we currently have? Look at their warehouses, this is what our store model would look like. Count your blessings, however less than perfect it may be.

To the one that says buyers don't do sh-- I have to agree with the other buyer who stated they work their but off. I too am a buyer and I'm busy as hell! If you see a buyer at your store that is in front of a computer all the time then that's their T.L.'s fault for letting them do that. That's a reflection on that T.L. I could run our dept. better than our T.L. let's just say that!

As far as layoffs, I predict Global and Regional gone. I also predict all T.L.'s going to salary with a min. of 45 hrs. per week. everyone else below them will have their hrs. cut. There will be only 2 buyers per store buying for the entire store, until the auto replenishment is down to a tee then the buyers will be gone. All supervisory positions along with ATL positions will be gone also.

Stay tuned for another physic reading coming your way soon.......

@VTVBvXK-1sum where do you get that buyers don't do sh*t? I work my back stock everyday, throw my truck, make orders, clean my dept. order and replace tags, help guests, help out other TM's, do tasks assigned by my TL or store leadership, fill out daily logs and OTS stuff. etc. I never have time to do everything I need to do but I try everyday and get back at it the next day. What kind of buyers are allowed to do nothing at your store? Our store leadership would not allow that.

ha ha ha!

they only care about having it their way not what works.

have you ever seen them work the sales floor when we are shor staffed?

they are the worst labor i have ever seen 3-5 times worst than the worker the does the work a 20 minute tast takes them 45-60 minutes.

they should be but since they are friends with the brass they stay .

what return is franted every paycheck they get?

amazon get rid of these guys!

In two days the pay increase begins. Everybody in my department this week already had hours cut. How many people will still be at wfm in2019?

The stores are stretched too thin as it is with long lines and aisles with no employees to help customers, so I can't imagine eliminating any bodies in the store. The only writing on the wall I see is adding some automated checkout and possibly some auto-replenishment buying. The regional level is a whole different ball game. I would not feel safe in any regional position.
