Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

RIF in ES org

By now the carnage from yesterday in HW should be obvious. I know of at least a dozen folks RIF’d. Across several locations, not just CO (also SC and BUR). Anyone else got info on this? Will it continue into Thanksgiving?

FWIW, people come here for useful information, and not fake rumors invented by trolls. Of course the trolls' fake rumors are easy to spot, as they are always vague and bombastic. All Colorado employees to be laid off? Does that include NetSuite in Boulder or the campus in the Denver Tech Center? It's clear the trolls don't know anything about Oracle in Colorado. Of course they will say dumb things like "hold on to your chopsticks", what's that even supposed to mean?

@VTXTx9r-1nwf to be fair. They'll be right eventually. Predicting layoffs at Oracle is like predicting a stock market crash, keep saying it and you'll be right eventually

Oracle wanted Sun not for Solaris or the hardware. That was a smokescreen. They wanted to monetize Java by suing the sh-- out of google and others.

"Everyone in Colorado is on a list next year. "

You must be the troll who kept predicting a mass layoff at the end of the month, only to say "Next month" when it didn't happen.

So this is your new made up rumor, which you will beat to death until you tire of it, and then you'll make up something else. How utterly pathetic,

Oracle will not help you at all in finding new positions. In fact, it is their thinking that it's the employee's fault for not doing that in the first place. Way to kick someone when they're down. Your only hope(if that's what you want to call it) is to make sure that the rehire eligible flag is set to Yes in your HR record if you want to return to Oracle, but why would you want to do that?

Everyday the place I am at is turning to a high school playground with no adult supervision. But hey, they can hire 2-4 millennials to replace an old knowledgeable geezer with decades of experience and customer service, right?

On Monday a RIF has been announced for the OD Málaga HUB. The company didn't even bother to find new positions for the people who will be affected, Oracle prefers to hire external candidates, preferably Millennials, than to give preference to their own workforce, no matter if they had very good appraisals or not while working for years for that evil company. Shiny new graduates, welcome to the sinking boat !!!!

HW storage tape, library. AA, under ES, calls this archive for cloud. We all now know that is such a joke, and RIFs reflect that. Was it 100s? No, but the size of the org came to a 20 percent reduction.

I didn't hear of any RIFs in AA's org. Are you sure about this?

It's only a matter of time before it's your time. Everyone in Colorado is on a list next year. Tick tock.

Seems like the HW teams under AA were the ones hit in SCA yesterday. No word from the operating system or storage teams yet.
