One word - failure, and Intel continues to deny it. There should be many more firings of executive level and factory mgmt for pure mismanagement of this program.

You mean 12nm OP? 10nm as originally conceived is not economically feasible and has been replaced with an intermediate node in which all density metrics have been relaxed to make it amenable to quad patterning. This is what Intel is selling as "10nm" in a futile attempt to save face in late 2019 against TSMC which, by then, will have more than a year running 7nm in HVM.

Can't wrap my head around as to why people want to see others lose their job. Yeah Intel has manufacturing issues but it's doing just fine with 14nm. Really high revenue and for all those doomsday folks, it won't go down to half of its revenue in 2 years. As long as x86 rules the software industry, Intel will be safe and that is not gonna be replaced by anything else anytime soon.

All companies falter now and then. Intel will be back on track.
