Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Is it just me...

...or does Cisco not care about retention at all? Attrition is at an all time high, and yet no changes are being made to stop the talent bleeding.

Is there no long term strategy? Is there really nobody among upper management who can see why this is not good for the company long term?

There might be a few "B-players" in sales, outside of sales Cisco employs bodies.

At this point in its lifecycle, Cisco is really only interested in having "B-players". Loyal, hardworking, experienced but not necessarily trying to set the world on fire. The "A-players" are typically not loyal and are too expensive anyway. Hence, you have a lot of top folks always leaving.
