Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Question for a Customer service tech guy

Long story short - Friend's wife died, husband needs to see memos on her phone but does not know the phone password. If husband brings the phone in to a VZ store, will the reps be able to get the password ? Does he need to bring in legal docs like a death certificate and marriage license to prove who he is ? Thanks !

Yeah the reps at Verizon store should be able to unlock the phone. Just go ask them!

I do not mind answering this, however @thx already has all options listed. We do not have the password and cannot unlock your wife's phone.

Guaranteed this mo--n just googled "Verizon forum" and clicked the first link without grabbing his reading glasses. Just like another poster said; you'll have better luck with digging her up and asking her for the password yourself.

ahhhh this is what I dont miss from the job. I don't miss customers coming in and asking questions like this and and getting upset because you can't help them and then they proceed to waste you time for the next 45 mins

Does the OP realize he’s on a forum where employees are facing layoffs? Does this REALLY seem like an appropriate place to ask for tech support?

So the FBI couldn’t get Apple to help break into a terrorsts phone- they’re not going to help you! They didn’t help me either. I tried everything but no go. Good luck!

if the phone is an iphone, sign into appleid.apple.com. the apple id is usually the primary email for the user or the iphone. you will need access to that user email on a pc. reset the password. you can sync the iphoe with the pc using itunes if the sync is not password protected. if it syncs without password you can reset pin while connected to itunes.

if it is an android, you would need access to the primary gmail account on the device from a pc. from there you can reset password.

if you have insurance on your vz account through Asurion, Asurion MAY be able to unlock it remotely.

If your need to access to the phone due to a criminal police matter, the PD can supeona the insurance, apple or device mfgr to get access.

Hope this helps!

Protected by the Constitution. Ain’t gonna happen buddy. Go dig her up and ask her for the password.
