Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

My GM told me that HO was aware that getting severance in the next year would put you in a different tax bracket so they are suppose to get the checks out before Dec. 31st. And not waiting the normal 3 pay periods for your payout.

Severance information is on the WIRE, you cannot complete it more than two weeks before Dec 7.

30 Days out (today) you can apply via fax, using WIRE form, for lifetime membership, providing you have enought years.

To 2ega- You will not receive your severance payout until 2019. As a former cash office associate, I was gained out on December 1 st and received my direct deposit severance pay on January 11 th. Your pay wil be received on a normal payday Thursday when all associates are paid hope this helps!

Does anybody know how fast your severance check will come after you turn your severance package in? I am hoping to get my severance in 2019, so the severance won’t be added to my 2018 income. I am afraid if I get the severance before the end of the year It may put me in a higher tax bracket.

If you are taking the severance, everyones last day on the payroll will be Dec. 7th. Not quite sure what dept. we will be working in starting Nov.10. That is when the "backroom assoc." position starts. After Dec.7th, we will receive the severance package in the mail. If you are under 39, you have 15 days to have postmarked to be sent back. If over 39, you have 40 days.

There is some information on the wire. 1-800-622-3989 is the number to call. Have your WIN number when you call. I talked to a very helpful associate that answered every question that I had. It's a tough decision to go or stay. I think for me and my family it's time to turn a new page after 25 years. Best wishes everyone.

Thank you. I am displaced and have not been given my severnce package. I have asked for it and no one knows a damn thing of course! Its unfortunate we have to trun to a "rumors" site to get knowledge. Shame on Sams for being so dis organized and doing it right at Christmas! Karma!

My severance amount came back already, pur club has no cm at the moment, nobody knows anything, no positions have been interviewed for or anything. Where do you receive your severance package? Is that mailed or printed off? Help please
