Human Factor Dismissed

The amount of stress and strife over the last 30-45 days that has impacted literally thousands of truly good people is just a shame. Aside from the dismissed human factor, it completely dismantled productivity from Sept-Dec. This train wreck has been a leadership fiasco and could have been handled so much differently. Quite frankly, it's piss poor leadership with terrible communication of full intent, strategy, direction, etc. It has been intentionally un-informing, leaving people to gamble on a huge life changing decision. But, at the end of the day, we are all just numbers on a spreadsheet. So, as a leader who has been offered this VSP, I too will look at it as a number on a spreadsheet. Time to cash out and find somewhere to invest my time where the human factor is also recognized. The Company line of "V Team" is a joke. Decisions aren't made as a Coach of a true team. It's just fake corporate rah rah speech. However, the people down in the trenches doing the work have been amazing over the last 25 years and I am honored to have worked alongside many of you. That's the true V Team. Peace out brothers and sisters and may God bless you all.

I think Hans interviewing the top 300 is a good start. How many times have we seen cuts at the consultant/supervisor/manager level who do the real work while the most expensive people, Directors/VP’s etc get moved to cushy jobs planning the next cuts??

Good luck gang, we all have a last day with this company, make it the best you can!!

I have also struggled the last month with this curve ball. This is not an easy decision. This is my livelihood and career. But I know that the current establishment has been whacking away at my confidence any chance they can. I am taking this chance to walk out of here with a year’s pay in the hope that I will find something where my knowledge, insights and work ethic are appreciated. I hear there is life after Verizon. I will soon find out for myself. I am sad that it had to end like this and I will miss all of the great people I have worked along side with for over 15 years. Good luck to everyone that has to make this very hard decision.

GL to all.

I accepted the Infosys offer.

If I had 10 more weeks (30 vs 20), I might have have made the same decision.

I am now at peace with it, as it is done.

Each has to make the best decision for them and there families.

God Bless.

Such a difficult decision. I am watching most of the smart people I work with leave, what does this mean for the folks who stay behind? Is it a sinking ship? I am only getting 43 weeks not 60 which isn’t as sweet, but I’m afraid of what’s to come.....

I've been a Director for a very long time in VZ. I really truly enjoy my job, but the future is not what I'm looking towards. Nothing wrong with where the business wants to go, but I think they could have made better decisions in letting VZ folks know what the future will be. I'm in my current position today, because of the folks who work for me. Not saying I didn't work hard to get where I am, but my teams are who made me successful. Please do what's best for you. I told my team the same.

After much contemplation and weighing my options, I too have made the same decision tonight.

In my situation, I could either take the VSP or interview for my own job with a relocation. I’m not going to chase this woman who doesn’t love me anymore clear across the country to have her dump me yet again. I’m not sure what the future holds for me but I’d be just as unsure if I continue with this company.

Good luck to you all! Whatever you personally decide, think long and hard and have no regrets with your decision.
