Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Our sears store is set to launch a toy department in late October 2018

I hope management will be the ones to take care of this”new” department as we don’t have the staff to rad/ran Rtw let alone throwing a mix of toys in the equation to tidy up and make sure kids don’t open and scatter the toys around

After years of customers asking if we sell toys and we’ve always told them NO, without advertising how will we move the tons of toys we’ve gotten in the last 3 weeks?

It’s gonna be a nightmare!!

SHC did not make a Christmas toy order, they bought the unsold stock from Toys R Us. So the idea is that Toys R Us could not sell it but Sears can.

We got toys in before the POG dropped. Sort of set it up a month ago. Selling like hotcakes. Haven't been replenished so now I have more bare shelves. They were buying even without bin tickets or any type of signage.

What supplier is still sending Sears merchandise? It's probably just leftover items Eddie bought on the cheap from a Toys R Us liquidation sale.

No worries, people will buy them right up during the liquidation.

It’s probably from the Kmart orders. They have closed so many kmarts that there are not enough stores to spread out the toy order they made in the spring for Christmas. Just a thought

@VaG2gU5-art I agree I wouldn't worry much I think some stores are going to close soon enough if you tell me. It seems like some stores are going to close. For example mine this week had people measuring the whole building so it seems our lease won't be renewed by the looks of it.

I wouldn't worry too much. The chances that ANY store will be around in October is slim to none...

Our trim shop will be in lawn and garden department and I heard the toys will be on second floor....

Be a good idea to have toys near the Christmas shop and it wd be better area to keep an eye on area

In the early 2000's, we used to get toys in for Christmas Season and they got set up alongside the Christmas trim shop.

After a few years of this, they dropped the toy line and began cutting back on the assortment in the trim shop.
