Sorry, didn't mean to raise any alarms. I am a former employee, nothing at all to do with the company anymore other than curiosity.

Not to downplay the value of the article, but it is almost a year old and I believe was posted here back when it was first published...
HR is just there to protect the firm.
it starts with the culture, but another recurring theme in these stories is that Fidelity HR is useless, which I have seen first hand. They do nothing to help employees, they only are there to protect Fidelity's name an reputation.
