Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

More of the same....

On a conference call with analysts Monday, Oracle executive chairman Larry Ellison touted what he said was the company’s top position in ERP, or enterprise resource planning, cloud software.

He also said Oracle may be behind Amazon in terms of cloud infrastructure market share, but said the firm is “way ahead” in terms of cloud-infrastructure technology, which should help it gain market share “very, very rapidly.”

LOL!!

Through Monday, Oracle shares were up 4% this year. That lags behind the S&P 500 information technology sector index, which was up almost 19% so far this year, according to Thomson Reuters.

Looks like another year of falling behind, lying to cover it up, and propping up the stock with billions of dollars.

Maybe AWS, MSFT, google might want to acquire oracle db?

All of MH's cost cutting might come in useful. Destroy everything except the db and then sell Oracle.

Ask the Sun Microsystems survivors how valuable having the best tech is if it is not properly marketed or not adopted because you are either too cheap, too incompetent, or both. Two words: acquisition target. Don’t think it couldn’t happen to the big red O.

"the firm is 'way ahead' in terms of cloud-infrastructure technology"

Really? Give one example. I'll wait.

And don't say "Engineered Systems" -- vertically scaled solutions are the opposite of what Cloud computing is built on.

And more continuous rolling layoffs throughout the next year.
