Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Stockholm Syndrome

The people still harp get it’s a great place to work are clearly showing signs of Stockholm Syndrome. I left after 22 years on my own accord and the sense of release on the day I told my manager was enormous. It’s a perfect storm of poor executive leadership, a lack of investment or innovation (that matters) and a relentless cost-cutting program to prop up the share price has left a thin veneer on an empty shell.

Sam then Ginni have lined their own nests and in the process have ruined an iconic company, the IBM brand and the livelihoods of many many thousands of loyal employees along the way. Thomas Watson would be fuming.

The only people who are happy are the ones who kiss up to upper mgmt and have mgmt position's themselves. You are right though, their time will soon come.

Thank you Bain!

To be happy at IBM you have to believe you are fighting the company and winning. But no one wins forever. Your day will come too.
