When I originally started hearing about the buyout, the rumor was that it was going to be 2 years severance, so for someone who is mid-late 50's with 35 years, 35 x 3 weeks = 105 weeks ( 52 x 2 =104) so maybe they will cap at 2 years severance? Let's hope...

Lowell, Tim, John and I got ten years severence, buckets of stock, use of the private jets for life and 6 months pay while we were "consulting" to aide in a smooth hand off (doing nothing of value for Verizon). Oh you likely weren't asking about the executive severence plan. Oops.
I got a buyout last year and the most they gave was 35 weeks of pay. You get your bonus and profit sharing . 35 weeks of cobra and when that ends for a single guy it is around 585 per month .
Nobody is going to give you 2 years pay when the ship is sinking .
Good luck with that..
