The upcoming rounds will not be like anything we saw in the past. It will not be base on performance, but more likely time with the company and how much you earn. They will be looking to purge anyone that can be replaced by outsourcing or a recent graduate who will demand half of what current employees do.
This is so important to understand. Thomson Reuters is looking to make these cuts count in dollars. People who are on starting salaries will not save the company all that much. People who have been here for decades on the other hand, will.
I'm sure they'll add some newer folks to make sure they can't be sued for age discrimination, but the onus will be on older employees.
