Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

New Macy's terms of the year: "sunsetting", "legacy approaches". This job description on a recruitment site:

The ideal candidate needs to be comfortable and effective leading through significant complexity. Candidates must be comfortable with quickly evaluating and SUNSETTING legacy approaches that no longer align to the STRATEGY (EVEN THOUGH THEY MIGHT STILL WORK.) The ideal candidate will be known for both vision and an equally strong orientation for speed.

STRATEGY = get rid everybody who knows anything, make sure everybody's in meetings all day so can't ruin anything by doing any legacy work, make sure they will be able to sell off every asset at some point in the future, set up BACKSTAGE (badly) 15 years after competition, continue to lose market share....

Strategy? Jeff, confused here as to what your strategy is ? Copy Kohls? Spend millions of dollars on what you call a "Path to Growth", that is not growth , but continued sales decline. You plan down and call this growth? You spend millions on upper management people that do not have ANY Strategy. If you want to " Sunset" something, sunset Hal and the entire Moran's you hired. Backstage is a joke. Jeff, hang out in one for a day and listen to the customer..... Tacky c-ap that you pile into a section of the store and think you will draw the TJ Max customer? They have far better quality merchandise than you do. Better yet Jeff, look at all the E-signs littering the floors. Waste of money. The customer can not read them. They fall off of the merchandise. Copy cat Kohls, well maybe we need their CEO! You are the worst excuse of leadership we have ever seen. I hope you are packing up your office. Lampert will toss you out by your pink tie!

I can't even believe a legitimate career website would allow them to word a job opening like this-it is unprofessional and prejudicial to current employees working their tails off. It also implies that if you're over 20 don't apply. Perhaps I will have my daughter apply, she's 11 1/2 and speedy. All sunrises, rainbows and unicorns!

The only things "sunsetting" at Macys are the jobs and market share.
