I am appalled with people are discussing on this blog - it's not right and posts are loaded with confidential Verizon information. This information is proprietary to Verizon, henceforth it should NEVER be discussed in a public forum such is this. Discussing Verizon offered Buyouts and RIFs in public (or in group setting) is against your terms of employment! Also, discussing payouts, severance, compensation, or any other details is also prohibited and it should not be disclosed or commented on.

OP.... er HR... er ah Buttercup. I'm appalled that our HR staff does nothing to protect the staff, their comp or benefits and caves to the greedy whims of the idi_tic executives who can't even speak English. Of course they don't mind stealing from the staff. They aren't citizens.

Hey OP. I'm appalled everytime VZ announces more "Great News" that results in decreased compensation and fewer or weaker benefits. How about trying some some honesty for a change. How about we retire Mark and Martha and hire some HR Overpaid execs with some backbone to stand up for the common worker and retiree. Marc and Martha only focus on filling their own greedy pockets. Hey OP.... if you are Marc or Martha... you better remain confidential or Hans will add you to his pile.

you are right people did indeed sign away many agreements of confidentiality that protects the best interest of the company. and it would be fair for people to stick by what they signed in good fatih, even tho it's hundreds of pages of riddles that no one reads. but can you say the company would be as fair and transparent in following rules that protects the employees best interest? who here hasnt seen a older employee get fired for non-obvious reasons? if OP is asking employees be good and color inside the line, can we get the reassurance that every company firing is legal and fair? dont hate the player, hate the game mate.
