My director is very forthcoming with any information she knows. She tells our small group everything unless it becomes a problem, like we blab or something. Then she told us she would stop sharing. The voluntary RIF is coming. Details are unknown until announced. I wish I had more years in or was in the pension or else I’d take it! Good luck!

Your boss knows. There's so much chat in the management ranks that it would be hard not to know something.
Happened to me multiple times and it's happening right now. My manager is super silent about all the rumors that are flying around and claims that she has no clue about anything. We know that's impossible yet she sticks to her story. Not sure how much she knows, but she ought to know something.
I wander if the OP has a story behind this.
