I’ve had more jobs at higher positions, in the company and outside, than you’ll ever know. I speak from experience and knowledge. If you don’t like the message, go hide in your cube,

"You bruise a little too easily, snowflake. Get over it and understand the message." The message is you are one of many, condescending, belligerent, management or management wannabe sycophants who has absolutely no value in the market place outside the Allstate bubble.

It is not. “mainly incorrect”. Northeast claim workload balancing is no different than any other part of the country. The same rules and technology apply. Don’t try to BS me. I know.

How do you know what office it is ?

That’s mainly incorrect. That offices handles exclusively CT and RI claims and those claims are all funneled to that office. Workload balancing is a bit of a factor but not a very significant one yet in that region.

In today’s world, there’s no such thing as ”shipping work out to other offices”. There is a process supported by technology that facilitates workload balancing across the country, taking into account licensing issues. Offices don’t “own” claims or work based on geography or zip codes any more. If the capacity doesn’t exist in an office (due to either employee turnover, or increased workload), the work is seamlessly transferred to an office with capacity. Times have changed. That’s the system.

It’s a significant issue in that office. They are shipping work to other offices to get it completed. Retention is terrible in the front end units and morale is at an all time low. Hard to imagine what the plan is unless jobs are permanently being shipped out.

I agree. People need to know how staffing works, otherwise panic every time an office doesn’t replace turnover. Understanding how the business is run is important.

"I’ll do this one more time. Every business unit has a staffing plan, whether its a field unit (CSA) or Home office. Once you’re at the plan , you stop hiring. If claim volume decreases, the staffing plan decreases. Get it ? That might mean that even when people leave, they don’t replace them"

Thanks for the insight great and powerful Allstate oracle, I will mention this just once, you don't always have to be an a-hole.

Ask your leader what the claim counts are relative to prior year. If they’re up or consistent with last year’s volume, and you’re down 24 people, you should probably be worried.

Hiring freeze in HO too. We can hire in Texas, ANI or ASPL but no in HO.

Management states they something in the works. People are starting to talk, folks arent getting rehired when others leave. Down 24 people this year and no rehire?

If you already have a job, why the concern that we’re not temporarily hiring ?

A hiring freeze is better than a layoff.

No such thing as a hiring freeze. There is a staffing plan. When you hit your plan, you stop hiring. If claim counts go down, the staffing plan is reduced, and you don’t hire to replace.
