Not only did they screw us with a RIF, they now are reducing VZW retirees phone discount to 25%. This is the same discount they are giving to companies like Home Depot! How many billions did they have in profit last quarter? What a joke.

Pretty sure retiree discount was always 25%.
And it only applies to the actual "plan" charge, The 25% discount is not applied to the "Line Charge" & options such as Extended warranty, the way the 50% Active Employee discount does. So in the end it's closer to a 14% total discount, instead of the 46% total discount under the active plan. Which is probably why I don't know any retirees that still have a VZ cell phone plan.
Although it's probably not at the top of anyone's "care" list today... based on other current posts.
Still you would think that the company would want ALL of it's retiree's to stay with VZ... but they don't.
Tough luck grandpa. We are about to cut 1000+ folks, so your discount kind of takes a lower priority on my 'let's worry about' scare
