Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Status of Federal Age Discrimination Investigation?

Does anyone have information on the status of the EEOC Age Discrimination claim? I'm not seeing anything good or any Intel denials of the EEOC claim.

Agree, and noboy expects much, but it would be nice to see some company, any high tech company slapped big time to change the risk profile calculus of acting unethically in firing older workers. May as well start with intel.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for anything big to happen. It will take years to complete the investigation, and Intel will likely just get their hands slapped or pay some nominal fine if found they did break the rules. Companies do the risk analysis and weigh that into their decision when they decide to rid themselves of older workers. Intel attorneys are fully prepared for this investigation and will deny wrongdoing as any criminal attorney would protecting their client. Nobody affected by this action, regardless of the outcome, is going to their job back or get a huge settlement.

I hope it is still underway. Government moves slow but it can on occasion move. EEOC - BK and RT blatantly fired old people while HR hired the exact same skills. by the thousands during 2016 alone Intel’s own data clearly shows this. Please make a big example of Intel or companies will incrementally continue pushing boundaries; clearly, ethics do not matter to these leaders. Put BK on the stand. Please open a govt web site, many of us who remain - will supply evidence.
