Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Another One Bites The Dust

Heard through the grapevine that one of the senior leaders in Online left VERY quietly last week. If anyone was going to leave on their own, they’d have been the last person I’d ever expect. If that doesn’t tell you how things REALLY are, I don’t know what will.

Online business is led by Leena. She's not going to leave. She can't get any job after this one knowing that she burnt billion of dollars on pet projects and stupid ideas that cost shareholders their monies. She will stay until the ship sunk and she will kowtow to live on island next door to Eddie.

He's 32 or so? Makes me feel very old. I most likely will never have a job at that level. I guess time has passed me by. Since this is anonymous, I will admit that my job really isn't much different than the job that I held in high school. I have a college degree but I took time off to raise my kids and then I went back to retail. Just seemed easier at the time.

He will not be the only one "forced" out. Only those who are truly loyal to Eddie and his plan, no matter how much it hurts the company and its bottom line, will be left. Today's announcement is only the beginning of the plan to end Sears/Kmart and enrich Eddie and his friends and fund.

Hold strong board and banks, dont give him what he wants.

I had a farewell email in my inbox this morning from one of my old contacts in the MSO, is that who you’re referring to? He was there for a loooooong time too.

If it is Usman, he hasn't updated his LinkedIn profile yet (which isn't uncommon). The timeline of his career trajectory, though, wow. Quite young for senior management.

I checked and he is no longer in the system.

I know someone in leadership that left on Friday but I don’t think he was there when the stock was in the $90’s. Big shoes to fill, and I bet they can’t.

If it’s who I think you’re referring to, he had been there since stock was in the nineties.

It’s been interesting to watch senior managers come in, say stuff about how they are going to help with transformation, then realize the enormity of issues and give up. It happens over and over again.

Who is the leader? Without naming names any clues?

Our DM, who was actually one of the few people in Sears management with a brain, quit a couple of months ago. I admired him for it, unlike all the others who have chosen to stay and take part in the ongoing corruption that is rampant in the upper levels of Sears.
