Why call it a Management Offer? It is being offered to people in Bands 5 - 8 many of whom have no one reporting to them.

Not.
The difference is exempt vs non exempt. Management would be exempt. There are plenty of non exempt employees that work for the company and are not covered by a union contract.
Better yet, why call it a voluntary separation if you send it to everyone but only afew qualify? I know several people that have been with the company for over 10 years+ who got the email but do not qualify. The sent this to everyone even though they knew exactly who they were gonna offer it too.
@xwy is correct. While the term management means different things to various people, within Verizon, management means anyone not covered by a union contract.
It’s a management offer not a supervisors offer.
This is exactly why they preach about how bad unions are to employees, If we unionize they can't do this c-ap.
