Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

All the pros and cons of the new CEO

Just came across this article, definitely worth reading. An insightful analysis of Marvin Ellison’s first two months as CEO, with the the good and the bad moves pointed very accurately, if you ask me. I disagree with one thing though. It’s hard for me to think of the announced closings of Orchard Supply stores as a good move, and to be honest this move frightens me a little bit. Judging by the hundreds of store closures done while he was at the wheel of JC Penny, and almost immediate announcement of Orchard Supply closings when he took over at Lowe’s, this guy is about bottom line more than anything, so if he doesn’t meet his goals soon, I’m afraid this is just the beginning.

The CEO is a puppet. He was half the price of Niblock. A token piece to show off that is it. As some one mentioned. D.E Shaw is running it.

Sorry to disappoint but the activist investors are the ones really controlling things at Lowe’s now.

The biggest mistake being made is stock buybacks, waste of capital needed to catch up to depot
