Thread regarding Sears layoffs

You would think they would be advertising about selling TOYS this year!!

Even though they are not being set up until mid October you would think sears would be doing some advertising before the big roll out of a toy department

Plus would it not make sense to put toys near the Christmas shop instead of on the second floor out of sight!

Who does this planning anyway? Bunch of knuckleheads!!

The toys are from the Toys R us liqidation .. No vendors are shipping toys. What you see is what you get unless they clear out the DC;s

The Wood field mall store in Schaumburg Illinois just had a sign at each Sears entrance touting the 'new toy department', inviting shoppers to take a look... but toys were placed near the Christmas trees and tool dept.... the selection was just 'ok' nothing really exciting.... basic stuff like some hot wheels, barbies, a few electronic and board games, fisher price for toddlers....

Toys are low margin. Won’t make any money.

The toys reset is being redone (email to come soon) because of vendors pulling product. All that work for nothing

They could create a S-1 signs in RES announcing Toys are coming to the store in October- put them on the entrance doors

As much paper for signage that sears wastes each Sunday, I don’t think 50 sheets of that nice signage paper would set off any alarms!!

SIMPLE

The only problem I could see is possibly a DM would not approve

They bought the overstock and unsold toys from Toys R Us. That is the reason for the toys going in stores. And the reason they brought the new guy in from Toys R Us. To set up the toy shop and to prepare for BK

What part of the store are they planning on putting the toys in for single-story stores? I agree second floor sounds like a mistake in the two-story stores.

They just announced to the world that they are desperately short on funds, and need to have vendors take a 75% haircut just to stay in business. They really aren't in a position to advertise anything, let alone buy the toys they need to attract the public to buy from them.
