Has anyone heard if those recently rif'd (not received severance payout yet) will be offered the extended benefits?

Following up on this thread. Can others confirm if earlier VZ RIF'd employees (pre-announcement of this Enhanced Severance package), who signed original severance agreement and received 35-week payout, are eligible for this enhanced offer? If so, how do we confirm if we are eligible and received the new Enhanced Severance letter requiring signature, agreeing to never work for VZ or any of its subsidiaries in the future?

Several of us were impacted in June, which was very odd, since we were all considered top performers, BUT were all above 50 yrs old and had 20+ years of service. When asked why we were impacted, all that HR and our managers would tell us is that it was NOT based on performance, but rather on a complex, multi-factored formula!!

Clearly, this Enhanced Severance program was in the works for months, so it's very unfortunate that we were all impacted in June, when we would have been prime targets/recipients of this new Enhanced Offer and would have done cartwheels to raise our hands to volunteer to receive it.

Thank you for any insight you can provide ASAP!!

Those impacted in June are being proactively contacted and will be afforded the same enhanced payout offer. As long as they signed the original release, then they will get a subsequent package that pays the disparity in salary and also extends health benefits. Received confirmation on a call with HR today. Will be calling my impacted employees to make sure they know and to reach out to benefits if they don’t hear from the company. They deserve the enhanced package since they’ve only been gone 3 weeks. It’s only fair.

omb- If you already "signed & returned" the Separation Release Agreement you received the week after you were notified, you might be locked into that offer. If not, it doesn't hurt to call and ask HR before signing it. Worth a shot anyway... but you won't get any official answers here.

I've spent hours on the phone with VzBens today and they confirmed the email was 'sent to me' but I didn't receive it. "A manager will call me back within 24 hours". How long do you have to respond if you received for 9/7 layoff?
