we went open sell in ladies shoes in March and encountered no decrease in our MAGIC score because of it. No one quit either, as several had threatened to do prior to the changeover.

I agree with the last comment. I never see customers use the app unless they are looking in store for something they saw on line previously.

I use the app as an associate to Scan prices for customers rather then run all over the floor and they are amazing the “store gives me a mobile price checker!” Lol.

I have yet to encounter a customer who even knows the features of the APP. BOSS is booming now, but only because it’s a way for them to get free shipping. They expected that extra foot traffic to equal additional sales. But all of our customers pick up and leave the store immediately.

I work at a high volume store (Easton, Columbus, OH) in a tech savy area, near a major university. we tested it before roll out. Relax, no one does it. You can barely get customers to use the APP for a price checker.

Not to mention most people do not have their accounts set up with their cards attached.

It's all about the perceived value of being tech forward.

Just like 50% of people do not pick up their ship to store or bops

Ditto for our store too! Theft daily everyday! No security and mgrs don't do a thing, that is; if they answer the phone at all. Magic is a joke and colleagues get blamed for all!

Our store had $1,000,000 in theft ly. Between Nike and Polo they will easily surpass that this year. The crooks know that AP isn't in the store early in the morning. There is no way that we can sell enough of that merchandise to make up for the losses we are incurring on a near daily basis.

soon there will be nobody running shoes back and forth, as it will become an open sales floor. no commission, no sales people. This is already happening in many stores as we speak. Shop lifters are going to love this! Looks like Kmart is back in business!!!

I would agree that the ultimate goal is no commission. Unfortunately Macy’s is more like a discount store than an upscale department store. Last Act was the beginning of their downfall, returning everything under the sun certainly does not help. They have taken registers away. We have only one in the Department I work in. I don’t get what on earth they are thinking.

I think that is their ultimate goal. Your top commission salespeople probably make more than many of the managers . On one hand they talk about service but watch what happens when an hourly associate ( excuse me, I mean colleague), has to keep running shoes back and forth for some of these customers. Service will go down the tubes.
