Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Nasty Comments and Bullying

The supervisors and managers who don't have the stomach to see the candid discussions on this board, but cannot refrain from visiting it and bullying those who post, should take note their nastiness is a pure reflection of their actual management style. Respect given is respect received.

Keep drinking the koolaid folks. Chevron has some of the worst management in the industry. Transferring over 100 billion of wealth to Australia and getting a 4 return while laying off thousands kind of sums it up. There are no warren buffets at chevron investing in America

Glad to hear it, 6sef. Good riddance to those who got the boot.

The leaders in GOM are good . . now. . . Recent past leaders were well practiced in bullying and getting their taste. Most are retired now. One was banished to a distant irrelevant location. The current GMs are first class guys.

@5wbr, That's just the opposite of what I have experienced, having spent much time working Gombu as well as other business units, including Abu, MCBU, etc. What you post is 100% false. I have found the Gom group to be great leaders and willing to give each and everyone a fair chance, great opportunities (if you take advantage of them), with no bullying, just a competitive work atmosphere. In many other business units, indeed bullying was present. I think that the hatred of GOM manifested in sites like these from lower tier and laid-off workers comes from a deep-seated envy of their higher productivity and higher standards. There's no need to sling mud at people more successful than you for no reason. Work on your own productivity and career. If you have been laid off, don't blame it on fictitious bullies that don't exist. Try harder, get a new job, you still have time. Don't give up!

They still do it as a matter of course at Chevron, OP. What I don't get is the bullying and persecution by certain people and supervisors, the likes of which is rampant at GOM, until they cost their victim that persons job. They actually believe that once they have achieved that, its over. That's the end of it as far as their smirking faces are concerned. They actually believe that.

@2niu, yet you reply to the “bully” giving him credibility. Go ahead, keep feeding your trolls. They’ll continue to besiege you the rest of your life. Learn to ignore, and just like that, they go away.

rja, I know of several who do on a regular basis. Don't know if they respond or not but I know they visit and read the posts.

I also think true leaders live up to a high bard and set good examples. However that is not demonstrated consistently at Chevron.

OP, if any management types come here to leave nasty rebuttals, that’s because they are insecure in reading anonymous remarks about management in general. They somehow take it personally. But truth be told, most of them who may come here to read the commentary, don’t really give a damn about anyone— not the former employees or the current day actively employed. They live for themselves and whatever they can extract from their position in the company. I know most people think this way, but true leaders really do care for the people who work for them and the company they work for. Unfortunately, most management types at Chevron are self-absorbed and are not true leaders.
