Those gigabit pipes and cell towers you sell access to aren't going to build themselves, but sure tell the people who climb the poles and provision your orders how useless they are. The customer facing employees wouldn't have a job would those "vendor facing employees" because there would be no customers.
Anyway, youre still there because you sell the product. Or rather, the "surplus product"...because they seem to be wanting to axe everyone who makes said product. Who knows how long you'll have. It will be for just as long as you are cost effective.
Take advantage of the tuition assistance, get another degree/certification. Find a new career that you can use that new degree/certification in. Move on! Retail is changing, and if you refused to do any personal development with your education then you’ll be one of the miserable people complaining about how it s---s to work for Verizon. News flash Verizon isn’t the only company in the world.
200k dbag.. sales is a transferable skill, once you sell for VZW your resume is gold because VZW literally teaches you (beats you into submission) to sell salt to a slug. Verizon pays for all of our degrees, you’re not special, I have 2. We work our asses off unlike certain people who get paid 125k to work from home. The moment you failed to realize you cost the company more than you made it you were a target. Half of you work for a technology company but can’t move your content from one phone to another, don’t worry we’ll do it for you and also convince you to buy something else you can’t opperate. My buyout offer which is voluntary, is worth $200k. That is an offer to leave, not a requirement. Don't worry, I'll pick up another job quickly with my degree and skills. Verizon is offering this because they are a company that is paying for many poor decisions over the years.
But you go ahead and stay working for this miserable company as it circles the drain. Because retail clerk is a highly coveted, in demand skillset that offers high paying careers everywhere.
Yep your still getting paid but you'll soon be working for the WIreless Zone when they divest themselves from stores.....and you won't be offered anything...you'll come in one day working for VZW then before you leave for the day your wireless zone employee with only 1 year of service guaranteed.
Moral is down across the company. This isn’t the same Verizon from 10yrs ago! The corruption is everywhere within this organization. No matter if you’re retail, call center or in the field! It s---s for everyone
I've been in the retail stores for my entire employment (13 years). Started as a greeter, then ccr, then rsr. I'd love to have a retail thread. I don't think other's understand how awful the store channel is now. Our DM is a psychopath, morale has been down bc were not making the same money and management is only capable of parroting uppers and micromanaging. If vzw is going to close the stores, CLOSE THE F*NG STORES! Don't talk about it, do it already! They closed 3 stores in my area since last year so of course all of our buttholes are puckering thinking were next. It's like being in an abusive relationship.....
