Troubles with receiving

We are struggling....

DC's pushing out loads we now have 7 full loads at the doors for 3rd. And have to have 4 hours a night for online scheduling per home office. And not counting milk 3 to 4 times a week. 2 to 3 fresh / fc deliveries a day. Also Coca And Pepsi each once a week. And 2 McLane a week. Also 1 associated a week on third. There is no way with a 7 our shift with 2 -15 min breaks and a 30 min lunch. And running the dock from day time deliveries. And also clearing the floor in the mornings so club can open. Our 3rd shift has to slot everything in the steel which means they have to make room and scan out and in each pallet in to the area moved and then the can scan their pallet into a slot and slot it. Our 3rd shift says it takes 3 hours per DC by the time they unload intial off each line and write down each date code on all dated products on check list and put a colored date code label on each pallet and then to the floor steel they go which is another process finding somewhere to slot it. Moving things around scanning in and out. Forklift drivers on 3rd are also stockers so they don't slot anything that comes to the floor.

We did move all paper and water deliveries to 1st a while back so 3 rd could focus on clearing the dock and DC's. It seemed to work out. We stayed caught up for the most part as long as the dock was cleared and we had some where to put all day deliveres. ( We are high volume and get approximately 7 full paper trucks and approximately 9 full water trucks a week this is not counting the 20 pallets from United and 20 pallets from Pepsi and 320 pallets of Coca Cola a wek.. But at is not what home office wants. And 20 paets of Frito Lay which is not asn due to direct shipment from warehouse.

Oh yeah and the 140 cases of books that had to be audit on asn this week. That we have to audit every week and at 100%. Daily ups FedEx 20 to 50 boxes . This is way from everything!! Ugh!! Really wished whoever made the decisions would have hands on. Don't forget scheduling pallet trailer pickups, Donations, Ordering supplies, Monitoring work orders and expenses, and resolving everyone's issues of all kinds, work orders, all the questions about on hands of merchandise for members questions, truck load orders. Loading members.

Is it just me. But I have no clue who says receiving of position even the clerk has nothing to do. Because it seems like they have more and more more to do everyday. Filling claims onbmissing palletson meat trucks produce trucks freezer cooler trucks Etc. All I can say I am very worn down. I am full blast every day and still seem to cannot get everything done. I sure hope all these new apps make everything much much easier I'm all for it!!! Oh yeah don't forget all the research you have to do when a pallet is over on a truck or a pallet is short on a truck from the DC's. I guess none of this takes any time whatsoeve. I could go on and on and on and never be done with all the responsibilities that come on receiving. Also being a long-term associate you have many many Associates that come to you with questions for you to resolve. Because the managers are sending them to you. But how many hours are there in a day? Hoping everything that happens is for the best.... Maybe they are realizing we working our tails off. Lol.

Very similar to us too. I’m overnight and we have to unload all the Walmart’s, all the major appointments (water, both paper trucks, coke, Pepsi, Cigs/Candy, meat/produce, freezer/cooler, and frito lay). We don’t have a mid shift but our morning crew gets local deliveries and books.

The new app both s---s and is great at the same time from what I can tell. Only have used it once or twice.

Do what you can do. Work hard earn your pay and walk out the door. You cant and wont do it all untill they feel the struggel things wont change. Dont kill youself with all the stress. Not worth it.

we are not high volume but we do have similar experience.....here is my thought ...when the managers see tht home office has made bad calls they should figure ways around them...but instead when home office says to beat the dead horse our managers wail away...managers just say that home office studies these things and know what they are doing.........

The people calling the shots have no clue what it takes to work in receiving or in any part of the club for that matter. We have 2 people in receiving every night and i'm sure they don't take breaks and still cant get finished. Like original poster we get tons of freight and they usually spending first hour each night just clearing the dock. All driver gang slot the trucks theres no possible way receiving would be able to unload all those trucks and slot. the freight as well. Lets dont forget about all the c-ap we have to pick up each night from the fresh trucks.
