My guess is there wouldn’t be a severance as there is a position for you if this is ever the case. But if the position is eliminated and there’s no other comparable position then maybe they will offer severance. But nothing is a guarantee. I don’t want to work on the sales floor. But will do it until I find something else if there’s no severance.

They can do it if they want to (combine AST & AYS). I don't mind. I'll do both. Already covering lunches a few times a week there. if it keeps me working, that's fine.

@VnUJwpP-4kht, you are my soul sister. THIS. Live in the shoes of an ASTS/AST one day and really see what's up.

We are more like the ones making the coffee, not sipping the coffee. Does anyone know if severance will be offered when they make this change? I want to know details of what the changes will be before it happens. That would be nice.

Don’t forget the millions of emails to do this and that. Send this update right now even though it requires pulling reports that take a million years to run. VPSM has numerous requests, tons of work orders, supply ordering that’s always needed right now, phones ringing non stop with customers looking for items since the associates won’t answer the phones, constant checking for interviews as it’s also a hundred step process to print 1 freaking application. Accident reports and follow ups, now we have to handle unemployment issues, then there’s the hr mailbox and have to check/respond to those emails. Job offers because managers who’ve been with the company 10 plus years don’t know how to do one or what the offer rate is because it’s always the same $9 they can’t seem to remember day after day. Or chasing the same managers down because they don’t know of to complete the interview guides after years of interviewing. Making sure the wrap stands are stocked with gift cards, water, credit apps & Godiva after we have to go to the dock and find all our stuff since receiving has no time to bring it to us. Then search for a cart and someone to help you lift it. Make sure the manager have all their coffee supplies and then having to constantly clean up after them when they spill it. I can go on.

I must not be living right. We do the vault, cash replenishment, cash pick up, check in associates, fix the leaks in bathroom, clean up poo on floor from customer cause housekeeping is gone, work orders, fix my phone, fix my tablet, replace call outs, print ta'z, post hours, post credit, do safety audit, assist customers sent to office, get someone for I ter views scheduled after store closing, training that was scheduled after store closing, paperwork for new hires, can you input y sick day, can you do my expenses, did you get the birthday cake, did you update the open jobs, did you check attendance, can you speak to associate. Yep I would like a lunch but to busy sipping coffee. At the end of the day I still get a paycheck.

What do the AST's actually do? In my store, they sit up in the office drinking coffee.

I think stores don’t realize how much they need AST. Any rumors yet on the ASTS Jobs?
