Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

OCT 1st Retail Management will be Offerred Packages

I had a meeting with other directors from various locations in the business. We were told to disband any large Cisco Teams (Spark groups) that were larger than a zone level. This will help rumors stopping of “people that left” so when they deliver the offers on Monday they can keep any unhappy morale mitigated to that location affected. The offers will require retail channel to work until November (to give time to hire/rotate managers). It’s completely optional to take but the goal is to get the highest paid managers off payroll and promote solutions specialists at a lower pay. I debated posting this, but I feel that you should be empowered with the truth instead of these little rumors floating around. Retail is not going anywhere, but we are adapting to changing environment. iPhone Launch day should have been a huge sign that things need to change. Keep working hard, and take advantage of tuition assistance to grow your portfolio so you’ll never be at a disadvantage if you are Separated from Verizon.

@hvm would love to know your position in the company because you clearly don't even know what the definition of integrity is and based on your response, you don't have any. You are a perfect example of why Verizon is failing. Continue to smile and lie to employees/customers faces while you screw them over.

Traditional retail is becoming obsolete and so many of the retail employees refusing to change and learn new skills. Invest in your development, get a degree, have a plan B. Remember employment at Verizon is at will and either you or the company can end the relationship at any time, with it without notice. I don't like to hear stories of people losing their jobs, it's a very sad thing, but we can't act like we are blind either, the writing has been on the wall for at least 3 years. Verizon will continue to prioritize their financials and will direct their funds to parts of their business that will help them increase profitability and sustainability. We can either stay, adapt, and evolve our skills, or quit and get a job elsewhere. None of or jobs are safe and we can either wait and become a victim, or do something about it while we can. This is just my humble opinion and by no means I'm trying to tell you what to do or how to feel. Everybody deals with stress in different ways.

Doesn’t sound like the person is disagreeing. Sounds like the person is trying to give a heads up to people on this site. If you’re going to troll someone’s post, you should do some reflection as to why you’re even on this site. We are not trying to find out Verizon’s national security code, we are trying to find out if we need to start looking for a new job.

I don't think this is particularly a great example of integrity. If you have confidential information because of your position, and you disagree with what is happening, quit, rather than leak and stay taking the money.

If this is true, I thank you for keeping us informed. THIS is integrity. To do what is right when no one is watching. Verizon and it’s leadership need to quit babbling about integrity and the credo and doing the opposite behind the doors. Employees are human beings with rational and logical thinking who can put 1 and 1 together. Quit the bullsh!t. With that said, if this is not true, and a troll. Please delete. We deal with enough bs on a day to day basis with this company.
