Christmas up already

Is Christmas up earlier this year? Just saw setups in Bay Area CA store. Caught me by surprise.

Holiday Lane generally goes up in late September. The store trim is installed in October, and is scheduled to be completed by the first week of November. However, several years ago the company established a prototype store in New Jersey in which the entire store is completed before October, and is used for instructional purposes. A few weeks ago all the executives went to NYC for the annual Q4 meeting and to walk the prototype store. As a retired associate with the company, and one which was absorbed, I’m familar with the schedule. It takes at least a month and one half to set the store. During the thirty-one years I worked, only one associate took the time to acknowledge the effort involved. It was so gratifying. She even began by saying that she thought the stores put it up too early. She was new. Then after observing me and my one trimmer struggling to put up an old trim of sixty trees, numerous wreaths and holiday trim, she realized it couldn’t be done overnight. It’s a small matter, and only of interest to those directly involved, and I should let it pass. However, I always need to prepare for the inevitable, “Christmas already! Why it’s not even...”...

It is believe it or not. In north east we have it almost finished already. Kind of behind schedule actually. Think it’s due Monday. Already drained the joy out of me. Lol
