OP - Stay away. SHI will not last a day past the SHC Bk.
And for the one who said Wal-Mart will buy It, I can only grimace at your thought.
For all the positives, you spout SHI has nothing going for it to be acquired.
Antiquated systems that are supported, archaic processes.
You may get a job at Wal-Mart but the set up will not be acquired.

SHI will probably not close down. If you read the news Flipkart - Walmart is looking for a development center in India. SHI comes with all the infrastructure as well as resources experienced in retail readily available. We have to wait and see. Anyway India is a strong economy right now and there are a lot of jobs.
Till you crib about my spelling.. I will be long gone....i can't speak for others bt joined sears to good wrk nd was dedicated was learning lot of things by myself.. Dats why i have more than one offers in my hand....though my question was why they r still hiring at Sears India.. If the company is going downhill....
I know there are some Indian programmers with legit skills and good communication. But the reality is there are many that aren't, even those who did some of their education in the US. I was in a US CS program with many Indian grad students. Quite a few of them, though not all, were only able to complete their classes by cheating on assignments that were intended to be individual work. Everything was a group project for them, because it took several of them to do what one good programmer could do individually.
id--ts. Most of the programers at SHI were educated in the U.S. It is not a Sears India problem it is a HE C-suit problem. Bad management, bad implementation, bad business practices.
To answer the question: As SHC America goes so goes SHI. We all fall together.
Good lord you people are rude. Nothing at all wrong with getting programming done in India, there are many competent programmers there. It's all how you manage it, if the programs fail, it's because of poor leadership here. As to the question, yes you should control your destiny and go get a different job ASAP.
First, you are part of the reason the company went down hill. Sears India cannot do anything, it takes 20 of you six months to do a project it used to take one programmer at Hoffman 30 days and your quality is still inferior. Yes you are going to lose your job too, you are paid and employed by Sears Holdings so there will be no one to pay you. However since the building you are in is one of the few with air conditioning I am sure it will turn into another call center for some other company soon enough so you can claim to be Mark from Texas.
Before you reach out for a new position you might want to learn to spell! You are perfect for this company.
