I think EL, Pension Guarantee and the BOD will work a short term deal to give Sears some more runway through the holiday season. This will allow Sears to 'empty out' the distribution centers and push merchandise to the stores for deep discounts thru the holiday season. They just brought in the TRUs liquidation expert and they are going to give him some time to analyze the situation and by March, he'll probably have everything lined up for final Ch 7/11 prep. It's going to take time to shut down the company, and I think it happening before the holidays is a bit premature but it is going to happen in early 2019. Also I think Pension Guarantee is going to need some time to figure out how to absorb the huge Sears pension obligation. Carsons and TRUs closed relatively quickly but I don't believe they had a large pension to deal with and the Sears distribution network is also much larger.
I also think that SHOS still does business with Sears so they might need a bit more time to untangle themselves....

Actually this is the best week to file for BK. With the entire country focused on the scotus nominee circus Eddie can slyly file for BK without causing a commotion and probably slip by without being noticed. My bets are on anytime this week.
