Thread regarding CVS layoffs

So much this!

Pharmacists need to band together and stop attending unpaid meetings. If our attendance is required then pay us to be there otherwise we don’t come. They can’t say we are salaried when we are required to attend the meeting AND make up our shift that we have to trade. Why do we allow ourselves to be walked over? Why do we follow “demand” hours that we know aren’t safe? Why can’t we figure out how to band together???

Bumped from @VgnTIGQ-8orb for being 100% on point.

FYI arbitration just ruled in favor of Rph and a SM on this issue! Major back pay coming there way! Anyone that feels you have unjustly been taken advantage of with hours can call advice and council to set up your meeting! The company encourages you to come forward as to prevent class action! They only ask that you confront your DL first to see if they can correct the problem. Many Rph are coming forward , SM do not care that they work the extra hours so they remain quiet and abused!

What Rph is base 40 and only working 45 now? I’m putting in 10-15 extra per week, not counting the conference call and schedule from home

Are you guessing or do you know something. In the end the company still needs someone to turn the key. Someone has to hold accountability. I can see more work on our plates.

SM you can not hide! Vp cuts, region manager cuts, fs district leaders cut, lp cuts, corporate support cuts, hr cuts, deliver driver cuts, seasonal product cut, promo cuts, human resource cuts, advancement programs cut for fs, emerging leaders 95 percent Rx based, if you r long time fs a decision has been made on you! Be proactive! If you have that gut feeling your next listen to your gut!

Pharmacists working 45 hours and being paid for 40 is exactly what the company wants so that they can continue to not provide additional pharmacist overlap hours. They love people who want to work for free for their bottom line!

I’m a pharmacist for CVS. I’ll gladly take the 135k for 40 hours of work, which sometimes turns into 45. And boo hoo, I might have to attend an occasional meeting. Big deal?

Ask 100 people on the street if they would take your place and not complain? I’m guessing you’ll have line of takers.

Yes, keep telling yourself how important your job is or how great of leaders you store managers are. I commend the one that has a tech license and works in RX but lets be real 95% of SM’s don’t know jack sh*t about rx.

Now back to the good part Mr. you have no idea how important us SM’s are lol they are adding biweekly truck for you because half of you can’t put the f---ing truck up without b--ching about hours. There is a reason why front store will be gone in the next 3 years. No margin, waste of payroll and no gain. You can tell me how important your job is and how hard you work then when front store is gone. Until then grab the f---ing truck and bring it back to Rx stat.

Shame on you! The pharmacists who thinks that a sm just hangs sale signs and sits in the office. Much more work than just that because yes with no help you have to do those things but you also have to manage the store. And here lies the problem, most pharmacists do not know how to manage staff or a business, It is 2 different worlds. I have witnessed first hand dls who where pharmacists and do not know how to properly manage staff, they think they do but It is clear they do not many times. Drilled into your head is that you are 80% of the business, yes that’s true regarding $s but it is no less work. You just proved the point about lack of management skills because you never want to demean another position. Are you somehow better because the pharmacy margins are higher than FS? Perhaps oa reason customers use cvs pharmacy is for the entire experience , shopping while waiting for pr-scrip-ions. If FS didn’t exist perhaps customers would go elsewhere and you would be looking for a new job. By the way, let’s see you break your back with a 15 pallet truck.

Yes I understand that you went to college and rightfully earn your salary, but I also have a degree and I am no less than you because you went to pharmacy school. Again demeaning others shows your great management skills. I hope the best for you.

Not all store managers sit in their office and do nothing but paperwork. I am one of those managers who happens to have a technician license and spends 10+ hours in my pharmacy weekly. I appreciate my pharmacy staff and they appreciate me. I was always taught one door one store. So please don’t judge every store manager the same because some of us do understand what the pharmacy staff does.

To the pharmacist who spoke like that, you are an embarrassment to our profession and our ethics. Im scared to think that you are in this profession for no other reason but financial gain. You have no right to speak like that as an educated adult. Shame on you. Life is going to squash you with a ton of bricks.

My apologies I didn’t know FS was so hard to run. Ya know I guess it takes a f---ing brain scientist to ring out candy bars, do BoH and damages lol not that hard when you have a cashier and don’t have to have interaction with customers. Try being a rph and doing everything with consults and phone calls.

Ohh yeah forgot how hard signs are for fs lmao you pathetic piece of sh-- FS people wouldn’t last a day back there with everything we do. We are 90% of the business. You are 10%. You are overpayed (hence why you will run 2 front stores). I don’t want to be the a-- but someone needs to break it to you fs people that you guys aren’t sh--. Have fun hanging out in the office all day doing “paper work”. Unemployment line will see ya soon.

There’s nothing entitled about wanting to not be taken advantage of by one of the largest corporations in America and trying to do something about it. Anyone who wants to be a pharmacist is free to attempt to go to school for the 6-8 years it takes to get your doctorate degree and take on the debt that goes with it. Professional education comes with plenty of long term costs, risks, and liability. If store managers don’t like their job or how they are being treated then they should do something about it as well or use their education and degrees elsewhere if they have them.

Store managers are pricks with your wannabe degree from online college. Your job is simple aka easily replaceable. You don’t have much customer interaction so you just sit in the office or run around the floor scanning sh-- like a jackass or cleaning the back. You guys couldn’t do a pharmacist job for a day. So take your sh--ty salary and continue to be the b--ch for CVS like you guys are and we’ll continue to make our salary. Have fun when half of you get fired and run two stores lmao

That mandatory arbitration agreement we had to sign holds no actual power in certain states. You still have a right to sue if you believe the arbitration was not satisfactory.

While I dont disagree, managers are constantly working more than their salary base just to stay afloat and make $40 less an hour. The once or twice a year that you have to go to a meeting won't kill you.
