Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oracle managers: higher the attrition = more successful manager?

from what i see, managers who lose the most important asset of the company aka top employees get promotions. am I nuts or others noticed it too? if it's really happening it's about age, fresh blood, lower the costs or simply ignorance of the top management?

Mark Hurd initiative around hiring college class ofs - we had to do RIFs to make room for students in his programs. Cheaper I guess.

Agree with @Vr1mHvH-2xoy

The whole appraisal and lay-off decision process is a joke. Corrupt managers desperately saving their yes-men. They will jetison the knowledgeable people in favor of the incompetent yes-men. They can then say they need people in India.

You are not indispensable, no matter what you know. You can be replaced by 4 people in India and the managers can please the upper level managers by cutting costs while increasing head count.

It won't work, it will destroy the entire company, but the management is not in this for the long haul. The goal to just be the last one's standing. The more corrupt you are, the better chance you have. Anyone with a clue will leave and the rats will be left to devour each other.

Agree with @1sfy. To add to it, these supervisors layoff skillful ppl with impunity, or whomever they don't like.

Appraisal system is farce n bogus.

The roots of the mgmt model in this org. are weak, and so tree is bound to fall. Its already falling.

Oracle managers they are not managers they are supervisors, They are here to find engineers mistake and remove the benefits, And show that I have saved so much money.

Most of them are good @ CUT and PASTE Kind of a JOB. People who don't know T in Technology are supervisors here.

Yup, no experience, $40+ billion. Wouldn’t you take that? No fan of LE, but he’s done something financially correct. Right by his employees? No, but that’s a different argument.

Oracle has never care about managing and certainly not about good management or managers. It all comes from LE and his total lack of experience

I think they are getting rewarded for getting older employees to leave. Experience? What's that? Who needs that? It's all about numbers, not people. SAD
