Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

UnitedHealth buys Genoa Healthcare for approximately 2.5 billion $

Although there wasn’t any official statement from either of the companies, this purchase was verbally confirmed by officials of both companies. Apparently, UnitedHealth plans to partner Genoa with their OptumRX division, and enter the market for behavioral health pharmacy services in a more competitive way. Genova has a good base of pharmacies, strategically located at centers treating these sort of illness, and has been specialised in this business for a long time, so this definitely looks to me like a step in the right direction.

On the other hand, as no statements have been made, it remains to be seen what structural changes will this acquisition bring. Things will be shaking in OptumRX soon, that’s for sure. Good luck to all.

The second floor people were laid off. Their last day was October 2nd. The third floor is probably next to go.

I see Optum Rx located in Duluth Georgia 2736 Meadow Church Road Duluth Ga 30097 is up for sale as of July 30, 2019. Hummmm...The 2nd and 3rd floor of this suite belongs to United Health Group /Optum Rx . With Genoa Health now purchased and owned by United Healthcare, where do they plan on putting these people who work for Optum Rx and DME Department located in this building? Better yet, when are they planning on telling them that this property is up for sale? Are their jobs on the line? I am watching the news carefully. It will be interesting to see where this goes in the very near future. Any scoop on this?

Please see Johnson v United Health Group. In this case, this poor head injured victim has his third appeal sent for outside review. The outside reviewer was a poorly credentialed convicted felon. Send it out to PCS. Yup, the Managers in Appeals are really scrupulous. But UNH did the right thing because they are helping people live healthier lives. Mr. Johnson got free identity insurance. Well what about his therapy? Denied! Welcome to the Evil Empire!
