THE PACKAGE

So how mad will you be if you decide to stay on and don't volunteer. And get rif later for a lesser package. This board is going to be on fire lol

Mathematically speaking, there is more value in working a little bit longer, taking a lesser package, and receiving 26+ weeks of unemployment (although I'd likely find a job much sooner as I have skills in demand).

YMWV of course

If you don't take it and your in IT you will be outsourced in mid-2019. They just have to prove Infosys can handle wireline and VES. Then they will be able to get approval from the folks who oversee Hans to outsource most of wireless IT.

They are having information Q and A calls about everyday. I can't say for sure they are "pushing" the "package", but sometimes it seems like it. About getting mad if I don't take it and get RIFed later, well I would be frustrated, but at the same time I had the opportunity to get out. The choice is take the money now, or gambling on staying around and getting to collect more money in pay/STI/profit sharing and health insurance benefits for another 2 or 3 years. Thinking more and more that the later option is the better one. If they throw me out earlier than that, there is a good chance of collecting unemployment. Decisions... decisions….
