Finally the UKI is rid of some of its worst long term leadership into the emear org. May this day be remembered. Wicked witch must be over the Halloween moon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since you mention the leadership I guess the role must be in PR or HR. Hope you are good at massages.

I recommend join , everyone needs to experience bottom feeders once in their career . Cronynism was the only reason I could think of for most of the people being in their positions. Imagine getting blown with a red hot poker inserted at the same time.. Don't know if you are coming or going....

A layoff site is probably the most unbiased location to find company information. Cisco HR spends countless resources on Glassdoor, and the amount of money spent on PR at Forbes magazine and other publications is astronomical.

Cisco is a great place to work if you are in sales. Outside of sales, I'd look into working for another company with better job security. Far too many re-orgs and layoffs.

GFY matter, what work life balance? Unless you're one of those types who dumps their work on everyone else and survives layoffs like a chamelon.

Cisco pay was good, it's just rubbish these days. All new hiring is almost on BS grades. Higher grade are being laid off.

They're coming for you...

@VvkjrN8-2jfa Good reply and largely true. One slight problem is that I would argue lots of people don't join Cisco but join through some acquisition. Cisco has a lot of cash overseas that it doesn't know what to do with, and they don't want to take it back the US and pay tax...

So that means Cisco throws money at acquiring a company that they really don't understand - it goes badly, meaning lots of layoffs.

I almost wet myself laughing when I saw these replies. Firstly don't come to a lay off site for any serious answers. Secondly a lot people at Cisco love to knock it but the reality is that the benefits are great. Pay is good. Work life balance great. Sure people get made redundant but the percentage turnover is pretty low considering the industry.

A lot of the comments on this site are made by people who want to get spoon fed a career and believe all manager's are rubbish.

If you accept an offer at Cisco you join a large world leading company but don't expect a free ride.

Now let the vitriol flow....

People are running from the UKI office like it's got herpes. We've had half a dozen join our office over the past year, and it's really starting to stink.

Long story short - UKI folk are the worst to work for, even outside of UKI. Let me name a few:

CD when he was in EMEAR, and his succeeding role.

DM in Emerging - boy that was fun.

His lads, MW and DM and their other puppet boys - these people wreak havoc wherever they go. Theyve been nurturing a culture of backstabbing and asskissing, it's funny how people take on work.

They themselves get no work done, and keep patting each other on the back for work they never actually did until they make it into retirement, or make their next gig back home. Its both sad and funny.

Nice offices? But a company with an ethically corrupt core, that is always trying to project a good image to the outside world - but would throw any single employee under the bus if it made the margins looked good. People deal!

If it's a job in a new tech area then maybe it's worth taking, but only as as step to something else - as Cisco fundamentally can't innovate (I watched as one of their BUs spent years not doing cloud - even though that was what they were trying to do)

view Cisco as a 18 month temp job and always look for new opportunities. the company conducts quiet stealth layoffs to boost earnings... it's just the corporate strategy
