$700,000 per store that is being remodeled

It is speculated that Verizon wireless will be remodeling a bunch of retail corporate locations and sell them to third-party reseller’s. The resellers receive a $250,000 incentive from Verizon corporate if they take over a corporate store. I think it’s ridiculous to spend $700,000 or more on these remodels.

Kind of funny how all the remodels have to be done before January isn’t it? Perfect time to clear the stores off the books

I think the company should spend $3 mil per store and convert them to Experience stores.

Makes perfect sense doesn’t it? Make all the corporate stores and indirect look the same. Cut commission structure for corporate employees so they want to quit. Change corporate stores to indirect. Saves verizon a fortune in benefits, wages, 401k, etc.

Anyone that cant see the writing on the wall isn’t paying attention

These Next Gen stores are cheaper remodels than Marni's dumb...I mean Smart Stores. Those cost $1 million a pop and were very expensive to maintain from a staffing and merchandusing perspective. The inventory needed alone was insane and an agent would not be able to keep a Smart Store looking good.

Fast forward to today and a Next Gen Store can be remodeled and an agent can be bribed with $250k to take it and you still come in lower than a Smart Store. Verizon sweetens the value by giving the agent a brand new store and $250k....makes perfect sense from a numbers perspective.

Sounds like what’s happening in California . A lot of the corporate stores are being converted into agent stores

Hmmmm. Several of our corporate stores are getting remodeled currently in ATLANTA and some of them are underperforming stores. Why sink all that money in a store that doesn’t produce numbers? Not sure about the $250K in incentives but this will be an interesting thread. Please keep us updated
