Everyone is waiting for the axe to fall in London. Things are far too quiet at the moment. It's an unsettling feeling tbh. Just need it over and done with.

When I took my redundancy in uk (I wanted it after 10 years and now retired) they bought my 3 months notice off me.

Don’t forget to minimise tax on redundancy (£30k tax free) and avoid 40% tax you can put upto £40k into pension fund AVC and you can use unused years also (3 prior years allowance for input into AVC).

If your over 55 you can take 25% out of AVC tax free.

Exactly. So this is how it'll work:

This week: people notified they're in pools

By Wednesday 17th Oct, people told if they're going, 45 days begins, probs put on gardening leave.

End of November, 45 days ends, told they don't need to work the 3 months notice, gone from TR.

Regarding London - and Wrexham! - pooling will happen for most staff. It was mentioned indirectly in a webcast today with the CIO (all were invited). Explicitly mentioned they were following uk law for consultations.

This is the law, and consultation has not started, afaik:

“20 to 99 redundancies - the consultation must start at least 30 days before any dismissals take effect. 100 or more redundancies - the consultation must start at least 45 days before any dismissals take effect.“

See earlier message - "You won't hear much from London yet. Meetings with Unions and Employee reps first. Expect to hear news later in the week, or Monday."

That message came directly from Human Resources.

Reckon the axe will fall hard.

Not sure the logic behind that assumption tbh. London people will mostly be put into pools. If they want them out by next week (which they will do) they'll need to tell them they're in the pools this week.
