I had heard that they are resumng with cuts tomorrow. In the almost 18 years I've been here, I have prayed that I was not on the list. This time, I am praying that I am.

Can you give some stats (how many) and positions of the people you know that were let go from Brookfield ? Are you hearing anything else, ie when the lay offs will end.... whats next for Brookfield campus....etc. Anybody hearing anything of substance?
There is no question of what is happening to BETA. All of it is going to India, at least until someone figures out there is a real reason that 'talent' is cheaper in India
After seeing who was let go in the Brookfield campus, it makes me wonder what direction our company "BETA Systems" is going. Our company is a money making machine but so many KEY people have been let go (you know the ones that have been there since Blunt, Ellis & Loewi. Software applications require more than just programmers, they need people who are experts in a large variety of fields and the relationships they have created with our customers.... and many were cut loose. After the last huge layoff a few years back, we have been expected to do much more in the same time. Have you ever heard "Can you speed it up but don't make a mistake"? Hell, for a while, you could have spent your whole day with the barrage of emails coming from David Craig and Refinitiv's "rah, rah, rah" b---s---. It was obvious layoffs would happen but not to this extent. I believe that our customers will be going little by little.
Last, MANY, if not all of the people that I know where let go this week, were over 40. There may be an investigation to see if they are in violation of Wisconsin's ADEA laws.

Layoffs take 30 min, so it is slow going. Started at 7:30 and will continue through Friday. I am personally looking/hoping for the golden ticket. After 20 years of service, I think I deserve a big gift of money. Most others are shaking in their boots. Dragging this out is torture. I'm running out of things to read online. Meeting Invite, please get here soon!
