Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon may disappear and no value to stocks

With all the bad progress going on from last month, company may not exist by middle of next year. Since the employees did not know ahead of time about losing their hard worked severance, please take time to visit your stocks and may be pension and medical plans if possible as they may also be disappeared one day by using some other laws/ executive decisions. Do at least something to you and your benefits before having too many apologizes to yourself in your life!!

Verizon will not wash up or fail. It will change though and a part of the change will be a rebrand of what will be the final look of the company. In short, expect the Verizon name to go away. The name change will reflect that the company is no longer under telco regulations as a monopoly and have shed themselves of the legacy business.

There’s an inordinate amount of pessimism here. The buyouts are generous. Previous missteps have been corrected and made fairer. Things are going well financially. People are being given options. There’s a rededication to the things we are best at. We are in a better position than many cable and phone companies. There is good occurring.

Not a troll or anyone’s mouthpiece, just giving my own opinion on what I’m witnessing

Reality check - V is a global multi billion dollar fortune 15 company. This same c-ap happens at other tech and telecom providers. Its not going anywhere.

I've noticed in the last 2 weeks other indistries are doing the same, Ford is laying off thousands using the same tagline 'a leaner more agile organization.' I guess the millions Fuherer Trump gave these fat cats and shareholders with corporate welfare wasnt enough.

Plan is to separate everything except wireless into separate company. Allocate all pension liability to that new company. Sell now while the market is still high. Verizon can wash it's hands of the pension liability and legacy costs. The new vcm spinoff company will go bankrupt in ten years. Your pension will get turned over to the feds, but they will not pay the same as you were expecting

Wait, a company that makes more money than Google, and 10x as much as the NFL is going to up and vanish by next year, while a company like Sears wont? Waaaat?

while i don’t suddenly expect VZ to dissapear I do think it is time to re-evaluate the stock.

We generally have no solid info about what will happen even though we are “inside”

If I took the package or if I stay I’d seriously consider dropping it. It does have a nice dividend but I probably have too much money in one stock that will either limp along or slowly go down as I really don’t expect it to suddenly surge.
