Sears had been repositioning a lot of SYWR rewards to be payable over monthly installments. Buy something for $50-100, get $50-100 in points... equally distributed in 12 monthly installments. Not much risk there when you suspect you won't be in business much longer. All of those points will be forfeit. Gift cards will depend on the bankruptcy judge. Some will continue to honor them, others won't. It depends on the long term survival strategy proposed. If it is a restructuring, GCs will probably survive. Anything resembling an organized wind-down of the business will mean those cards will lose all of their value pretty quickly or immediately upon filing.
Damn, you mean I might lose that $1.59?
Just did. It probably won't be an immediate loss of points but I wouldn't waste time. GCs too. I just made it with my Toys R Us GCs. Otherwise worthless.
